White Chocolate Yogurt Mousse

Milena Kukurekovic

It’s cold outside, and wintertime calls for delicious desserts Smarties!

Finally, winter is here, so we can snuggle up for a good movie with a cup of hot chocolate and our loved ones. Winter is our favorite for many reasons, the food being the top reason. We love preparing new food items. Want to guess what we enjoy making the most? Did you say Desserts? You are right, Smarties! Festive desserts are an essential detail for this time of the year.

So, we, Smarty Had A Party, thought of sharing a few of our favorite dessert recipes with you all today.

Before we get to the first recipe, let us tell you a little about it. We have put together a holiday dessert that's light, tasty, and just right for the season. As good as that freshly baked cookie or apple tart sounds, winter calls for one thing and one thing only: an easy winter dessert. (Who wants to spend the whole night in the kitchen when you can be relaxing?). This White Chocolate Yogurt Mousse is simple to make and insanely delicious. This is perfect as it also comes together in no time!

What you need:

  • 32 oz. of plain Greek yogurt
  • 16 oz. of white chocolate, melted
  • 3/4 cup of sugar
  • 8 egg whites
  • tablespoon of vanilla

Have you gathered all the necessary ingredients? Then, let's get started.

  • First, combine the yogurt and the melted chocolate in a mixing bowl. Make sure the mixture is smooth.
  • Into a double boiler, place egg whites and sugar and beat until soft peaks form. Be careful not to splatter the mix.
  • Then, fold the whipped egg whites into the yogurt mixture.
  • Divide the mixture into parfait dessert bowls and refrigerate for 3 hours before serving.
  • Garnish with fresh cranberries and a sprig of evergreen! Serve with our mini-tasting spoons.

No-Bake Lemon Cheesecake

The second dessert is also a no-bake, fluffy dessert. To make this no-bake lemon cheesecake, you will need the below-given ingredients.

  • 1 cup of graham crackers
  • ¼ cup of butter (melted)
  • Cream cheese (8oz softened)
  • ¾ cup of confectioner's sugar
  • 2 cups of heavy cream
  • ¼ lemon juice
  • Cups (we used 2 oz. Clear Square Plastic Shot Glasses)

Step one: First, put the crackers in a ziplock bag. And bash them with a rolling pin to crush them. You can also use a food processor for this.

Step two: Put the crushed crackers into a bowl and put the melted butter in. mix well and keep it aside.

Step three: Into a different bowl, add the cream cheese and the icing sugar and beat them together until well combined. You must beat the ingredients on a medium speed until they form a smooth consistency.

Step four: Then pour the lemon juice in and mic until all the ingredients are combined. Keep the bowl aside.

Step five: Beat the heavy cream on medium speed until you get stiff peaks.

Step six: Fold the heavy cream into the cream cheese mixture. Leave about ¼ of the heavy cream for garnish.

Step seven: Put the cups, graham cracker, and butter mixture into them to form a layer. Press it down with a spoon.

Step eight: Next, put the cream cheese mixture as the second layer. We put the mixture into a piping bag and then piped the mix into cups. This ensures a mess-free transfer.

Step nine: Use the remaining heavy cream to garnish. You can also slice some limes thinly and add them to the heavy cream.

Step ten- refrigerate the cups for 2 or more hours. Then serve with our mini-tasting spoons!

Smarty tip: These no-bake cheesecakes will last up to five days in the fridge.

S'mores Cups

Our third recipe is the cup version of s'mores! Everything tastes better in a shot glass for some reason. Here's what you are going to need.

Ingredient needed:

  • Chocolate pudding (you can make it at home or buy a packet and make it according to the directions on it. Keep in mind, we need the pudding to be chilled)
  • Graham crackers
  • Marshmallow fluff
  • Mini shot glasses or jars

Take the glasses and put a layer of crushed graham crackers. Then add a layer of prepared chocolate pudding. Use marshmallow fluff as your third layer. Repeat until you reach the top of the glass. Garnish with roasted mini marshmallows and serve.

We made the pudding by ourselves. We first combined milk and sugar in a saucepan and bought them to a boil. You can also add in a pinch of salt if you want. Then in a separate bowl, we mixed sugar, cocoa powder, and corn starch. Then, into the same bowl, we added a bit of milk and stirred until well combined. We poured this mix into the boiled milk and brought it to a boil again. Then, we had to continuously whisk the mixture on low heat to ensure that it would be lump-free. After about 2 to 3 minutes, the pudding is ready. We whisked the eggs and the extra egg yolks in a bowl and added a little chocolate mix. Gave them a mix, and back to the stove they went. The mixture had to be whisked constantly to ensure the right consistency. After about 2 minutes, we turned off the heat, added a dash of vanilla, some butter, and chocolate, and gave it a good stir. After all the elements have cooperated well, we put them in the refrigerator to chill.

Happy Winter Holidays Smarties!
