Birthday Party Field Trip Ideas

Milena Kukurekovic

As the years go on, the idea of throwing yet another birthday party at your house gets less and less appealing. The planning, the invitations, the cooking, the cleanup, it can take a lot out of you! It might be time to look for somewhere different to celebrate your little tyke's big day. Here are a few unique places to have a shindig that the kids will love. Throw a craft party! Kids love working with their hands and most pottery stores allow you to throw a birthday party at their location. Similarly, you can call your local Build-A-Bear workshop and ask about having a private party with them. Indoor playgrounds are as popular as ever and will keep the kids occupied to their hearts' content. This has the added benefit of letting the children wear themselves out, leaving you with a quiet, sleeping child on the way home. Though it may be a challenge to keep the group together, museums are a simple way to inject some education into the mix. You probably want to stick with science museums, though. Chances are fine art won't go over well with the little ones!
