DIY Tutorial: Alternative Guestbook

Milena Kukurekovic

In the last post, I showed you all how to put together a really cool vintage, rustic themed guestbook table. I suggested using a recycled paper journal for your guests to sign, but this "out of the box" idea may just make you think again. Buy a pretty shoebox-sized wooden box with a top that flips open. In the center of the bottom of the box cover, tape or glue a piece of stationary that instructs your guests to write notes and place them inside. Make sure to leave pieces of paper and colorful pens on the table next to your "guest box." (Unless, of course, you want a bunch of notes written in lipstick ;) ) Now.. it's time to get messy. Find a couple vintage trunk suitcases (try Ebay) and paint them. Classic white fits with the theme, but go for any color you like. Once they're dried, put them in an uneven stack, and that is where your "guest box" will lie. After the party, you can paste your invitation to the top of the box and mix in a few decorations from the party with the notes to make yourself a memory box!
