DIY Rose Napkin Fold

Hello Smarties! Mother's Day is around the corner, right? Have you planned something special for your moms and mother figures? Your mom threw you some epic birthday parties growing up, and now it's time to repay the favor with an incredible Mother's Day celebration. Honor all the influential women in your life - mom, stepmom, grandma, aunts, and more - on this year's Mother's Day by playing hostess with the mostess.

We have several ideas to share to make your Mother's Day celebration a success. Our first idea is for those who are hosting your own Mother's Day meal. Smarty Had A Party has a fabulous DIY Napkin Fold idea that you and your mom will love!

To follow our tutorial, you will need napkins and pearl napkin rings. Why do we suggest using pearl napkin rings? Because they add a classy, feminine touch to the napkins. We used pink colored napkins. You can use any color you like.

Follow the given instructions and learn how to impress your guests with just a napkin:

Step 1: Fold the napkin in half. (The napkin will look like a triangle after you fold it, so)

Step 2: Roll the napkin forward about ⅔ inches off the way to the top.

Step 3: Roll the rolled part of the napkin from right to left.

Step 4: Tuck the end of the napkin in. Then you should be able to keep it on a flat surface.

Step 5: Pull the two points apart. These will act as the leaves.

Step 6: Flip over.

Step 7: Add a pearl napkin ring to secure the fold. (You can, of course, not use a napkin ring; the rose shape will hold. But adding the pearl will make the napkins look even more elegant)

Step 8: And Voilà!

We always say this, and we'll repeat it. Napkins are elements of decoration. So, you can follow our tutorial and fold some extra Rose Napkins to use as decoration at your event. We chose to place some of these rose napkins around our table centerpiece. It worked wonders in elevating the already beautiful look of the table.

Don't stop at decorating the napkins. Once you have dressed the napkins, take the party up top by setting the tables with Smarty's fabulous tableware. Mother's Day Food

Idea number two to make Mother's Day special!

Make fantastic food for your mother! Mother's never got the time to rest. They are always busy doing something or another. So why not let your mother rest on this day? Preparing food doesn't need to be stressful. You can cook something simple yet delicious like roasted chicken, pasta salad, Paella, or shakshuka. Your mothers will love it. If cooking frightens you, why not try your hand at making a dessert for your mom that is as sweet as she is? Nothing could go wrong with desserts!

Here's one of our favorite dessert recipes. We have been making this dessert for a few years now. You will need lemon curd to make this dessert. You can buy lemon curd at the supermarket. However, we enjoy making it at home, so here's the recipe we follow.

Whisk the yolks of three eggs in a bowl. Add 100 grams of sugar to the bowl and whisk again. Then add three teaspoons of lemon zest and give it a good mix. Slowly incorporate ¼ cup of lemon juice into the egg and sugar mixture. Then transfer the mixture into a pot and heat it on a low flame. Keep stirring so that it doesn't burn. Once the mixture has thickened enough, remove from the heat, add ¼ cup of butter, and mix till all the butter melts. And once the curd is cool enough, store it in an airtight container.

To make the mouse, whisk together one cup of heavy cream, about half a cup of lemon curd, and one-fourth cup of icing sugar for approximately five minutes. What you are looking for in the mixture is a stiff consistency; that holds the shape of the peaks when the beater is lifted. Put the mix in shot glasses, cover with cling wrap and refrigerate for about 6 hours. You can garnish these with some fresh berries. Here's a suggestion-serve these while they are still cold!

DIY Gifts You Can Make for Your Mom

When was the last time you gave your mom some flowers? Make this the day you give her a bunch. We used a carafe, baby's breaths, and roses to make a flower vase. You can write a cute note for your mom and tie it to the vase with a pretty ribbon. Your mom will surely cherish these flowers. Of course, she's going to repurpose the vase or carafe you placed the flowers in too!

Hear us out.

We are not talking about porcelain dinnerware. We are talking about clear or solid color plastic dinnerware. Plastic tableware is super affordable. Purchase them and add your touch to them. We painted the message "We are lucky to have you, mom" on the lips of the plates we gifted.

Hand-painted or embroidered aprons are a great idea too. So let your crafty side out and elevate a plain apron with your skills for your loves-to-cook mom!

Snack bowls to the win! We used our clear concave bowls. Fill the bowl with all the little treats your mom enjoys. It can be chocolates, candy, or even nuts.

Candles are a good gift idea too. It's what we are planning to give our mothers this year. So what do you think of our suggestions?
