These cubes are realistically designed plastic ice cubes, filled with a non-toxic freezable gel. What makes the product unique is a battery-operated light-source, which illuminates the cube (and whatever it's submerged in) from the inside out, brightly and beautifully.
Cubes are made of non-toxic, FDA-approved materials and are completely safe for use in food and drinks. Although sterilized for use when packed, hand washing in hot, soapy water is suggested before using. Not dishwasher recommended.
Cube stays frozen about the same amount of time as an equivalently sized piece of ice: Approximately 20 minutes.
Put cube at the bottom of a glass and cover it with ordinary ice. This gives the light gets a chance to refract through the real ice.

Lifespan of the cubes:
Light Cubes will light for approximately 30-120 hours, depending on the mode. Blinking mode cubes have the longest life span.
Lifespan of the batteries:
Batteries are good for approximately 3 months. Shelf life will lengthen slightly if the cubes are kept cold, as in regular batteries when stored in the refrigerator.
Due to food safety guidelines, the batteries are not replaceable.
